The representatives of the private sector and companies met through the Energy Breakfast Club event. It took place on the 11th of May, and it is the second edition dedicated to electrical mobility in Romania.
The Administration of the Environmental Fund allocated 75.000.000 lei this year in the form of commitment loans and 15.000.000 lei for budgetary credits for the projects category that finances electric cars and charging stations, according to the terms of HG number 235/30.03.2016. Considering the prices of charging stations on the Romanian market, prices that vary between 2.000 euro and 35.000 euro, the Administration of the Environmental Fund estimates the installation of 424 charging stations with slow charging and high power, and 424 charging stations with standard power.
ALD Automotive Romania presented the essential elements of the evolution of the local market for electric cars. ALD is one of the European leaders in the domain of electric cars and a pioneer in Romania. Starting with one charging station in 2011, now there are over 50 charging points all around the country accessible for the public. The majority of them even allow charging your car battery for free.
BMW i3, the only premium electric car in Romania, discussed three myths about electric cars:
- electric cars cand be used in Romania, even if we do not have a developed infrastructure;
- electric cars are not expensive;
- the government can sustain the automobile market through acquisitions subsidies and other facilities.
